Ora Gold is primarily an Australian gold exploration company. Gold, either in stand-alone geological settings or in association with other elements, is our principal target. We remain on the lookout for copper opportunities as well. Our geographical focus is on Western Australia (WA).
The wholly-owned Garden Gully Gold Project is our flagship. Centred about 20 kms NW of the town of Meekatharra in WA, it boasts a geological setting that is host to numerous current and past gold mining operations in and around Meekatharra, a production centre that has delivered in excess of 7 million ounces of gold to date. Garden Gully covers about 85% of the Abbotts Greenstone Belt (AGB) which is one of, if not the, last remnants of greenstone belt in the region that is yet to deliver a gold camp containing at least 250,000 ounces of gold. The AGB has all the same geological characteristics as the other productive greenstone belts in the region. It has minor historical production at several centres that are now in Ora Gold’s control. Ora Gold controls the lion’s share of this greenstone belt – an exciting exploration target that ticks all the criteria required for a gold deposit. Our exploration to date has confirmed that the area hosts gold mineralisation. The Garden Gully Gold Project represents an excellent opportunity for the discovery of a new gold camp in a region that has an established track record of hosting such occurrences.
Meekatharra is a fantastic infrastructure hub, located on the main sealed highway linking Perth to the state’s northernmost iron ore ports. It has an airstrip capable of servicing international aircraft. There are two operational gold processing plants nearby, both within about 30km trucking distance of the Garden Gully project area.
Ora Gold holds a 90% interest in the Red Bore copper-gold project in the Doolgunna region of WA about 900km NNE of Perth. Red Bore is located only a few hundred metres from the operating DeGrussa copper-gold mine (DeGrussa is a VHMS deposit with mined grades of 4.8% Cu and 1.6 gpt Au). Ora Gold’s exploration identified zones of high grade copper mineralisation at Red Bore. Our 10% Joint Venture partner is currently conducting further exploration, at no cost to Ora Gold, and can move to 85% upon defining a JORC 2012 compliant resource of at least 30,000 tonnes of copper equivalent. Ora Gold would then retain a 15% equity interest, free-carried to production.
Curara Well (Ora Gold 90%) is several kilometres north of Red Bore and is also prospective for copper-gold mineralisation, potentially of the DeGrussa style.
Keller Creek (Ora Gold 20% free carried interest) is in the Kimberley Region of WA. It hosts the extensions of the Savannah North nickel sulphide mineralisation, ore source for the operating Savannah nickel mine.
The team at Ora Gold Limited is experienced, dedicated and focused on commercial success. We operate efficiently and cost-effectively and aim to deliver a pattern of discoveries and value creation for all shareholders, both through rigorous exploration based on sound geological interpretation; and organic growth through appropriate acquisitions of new projects and targets.
